NightSeeing™ aims to raise awareness of light, and shadow, for nighttime environments in cities worldwide, as well as to provide an overview of lighting theory to the general public and design professionals alike.
This program originated with my class, "Designing Urban Nighttime Environments." Upon leaving the classroom and emerging onto the street, the smallest pixels of light and the faintest shadows were transformed into objects and subjects of study. This "lightwalk" became a treasure hunt, a way of recognizing both existing and designed light.
Innovation and creativity for bringing light to public spaces all over the world energizes architecture, landscape and urban infrastructure with the ultimate goal of connecting people to each other and their surroundings.
I hope you will consider booking a NightSeeing™ Program for your city, conference or public-involvement initiative.
